Job summary

Innovative Concrete, LLC seeks a Payroll and AP Specialist to handle weekly construction payroll and accounts payable, collaborating with the Controller, HR, and superintendents. The role supports payroll accuracy, vendor payments, and tax compliance, contributing to smooth operations and timely wages.

The ideal candidate has construction accounting experience, strong organization, and meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Prior industry experience is required.
• Accounting background is required.
• Strong knowledge of Word, Excel, Sage, ADP, etc.
• Must be able to pass a drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and process weekly construction payroll.
• Process all payroll related deductions, including garnishments, loans, and tax withholdings.
• Process and file weekly certified payroll and prevailing wage reports.
• Process monthly workers' comp reports and payments.
• Reconcile and process benefit payments and reports (health, dental, vision, IRA, life insurance).
• Provide administrative, financial, and clerical support in accounts payable.
• Process vendor and supplier invoices.
• Evaluate and process payables for weekly payment.
• Reconcile vendor and supplier accounts monthly.
• Manage vendor and supplier accounting relationships.
• Process and reconcile the primary company credit card weekly.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including sales/use tax and 1099 requirements.
• Collaborate with auditors to support internal and external audit requests.
• Research, resolve, and respond to vendor and purchasing employee inquiries regarding account status.
• Investigate and resolve problems with purchase order and invoice processing, and communicate resolutions to the appropriate personnel.
• Review payment documents for accuracy and proper documentation before entering them for payment in Sage.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with suppliers and employees, including managers and supervisors.
• Enter financial data accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain vendor invoice files.
• Collect all vendor documents needed for compliance.
• Help complete and prepare regularly scheduled year-end activities and reporting.
• Travel to Innovative Concrete's other divisions when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned within the accounting department.
