CFS is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist with construction pay application experience to support subcontractor payments, vendor invoices, and accurate project cost tracking.

You will review pay apps, manage retainage and lien waivers, code expenses, and collaborate with project teams to keep payments moving and project finances on track. This role offers growth potential within a construction-focused accounting team.

Qualifications

• Experience with subcontractor pay applications and retention tracking.
• Understanding of lien waivers and AIA billing forms is preferred.
• Strong cost coding and vendor/payable workflow experience in construction.
• Detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines in a project-driven environment.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and process subcontractor pay applications against contracts and change orders.
• Track retainage and obtain lien waivers prior to releases.
• Process vendor invoices with proper approvals, project assignments, and cost coding.
• Coordinate with project managers to resolve discrepancies and secure payment approvals.
• Prepare payment runs according to procedures and contractual terms.
• Reconcile vendor statements and respond to payment inquiries.
• Maintain vendor records, W-9s, and supporting documentation.
• Assist with month-end close and AP reconciliations.
