Metro Detroit construction company in Southfield is seeking a Payroll Accountant to join its accounting team. The role focuses on payroll processing for field and administrative staff and union reporting, with opportunities to gain exposure to job costing and project accounting.

Qualifications

• Construction payroll/accounting experience
• Union payroll/reporting experience preferred
• Detail-oriented and able to work independently
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and payroll/accounting systems
• Experience with COINS is a plus
• Desire to grow beyond payroll into broader accounting areas

Responsibilities

• Process and review payroll for field and administrative employees
• Prepare weekly and monthly union reporting
• Reconcile payroll-related GL accounts
• Assist with union labor rates and labor reporting
• Support certified payroll and other construction-related reporting
• Develop into additional job cost, project accounting, and GL responsibilities over time
