About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, Florida-certified trial paralegal to join a legal team representing construction clients in all facets of their businesses. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of practical experience working in all phases of complex litigation, from case inception through resolution, and must have hands-on experience attending and assisting with trials.

Experience with litigation support tools and applications such as Relativity, CaseMap, LiveNote, and Trial Director is preferred.

Primary Responsibilities

• Coordinate the assembly of exhibits and appendices for court papers, witness sets, depositions, arbitrations, and trials.
• Set up and manage war rooms for trials and/or arbitrations.
• Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, trials, and arbitrations.
• Draft routine correspondence, memoranda, subpoenas, summons, and other legal documents as requested by attorneys.
• Conduct factual or legal research.
• Examine public records and monitor legislative and administrative proceedings as assigned.
• Locate witnesses and trace documents and other physical evidence.
• Communicate, interact, and coordinate with partners, associates, Litigation Support, IT, administrative assistants, and office services.
• Maintain knowledge of all applicable procedural and court rules.
• Maintain proper docketing procedures.
• Handle e-filing processes and procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of e-discovery rules and processes.

Required Qualifications

• Florida-certified paralegal.
• At least 5 years of experience working in all phases of complex litigation.
• Experience handling matters from case inception through resolution.
• Hands-on experience attending and assisting with trials.
• Construction litigation experience preferred.
• Degree or paralegal certificate required.
• Experience with litigation support tools such as Relativity, CaseMap, LiveNote, and Trial Director preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent problem-solving, multitasking, research, and organizational abilities.
• Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a larger team.
• Availability for overtime and flexibility to travel are required.
