Job Summary:
Our Client is seeking a Construction Operations Manager. The Construction Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day functions of the residential construction business, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This leadership role is responsible for streamlining processes, managing cross-functional teams, coordinating with subcontractors and vendors, and implementing strategic plans to support company growth. The Construction Operations Manager plays a key role in aligning construction activities with company goals, maintaining customer satisfaction, and driving operational efficiency across all departments.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Single point of accountability for the day to day construction operation of the business based on the Vision, Mission, and Values.
- Day to day management of jobs.
- Responsible for solving daily job issues.
- Weekly jobsite visits ensure the home is built to plans, specifications, selections, and change orders.
- Ensure COO/TCO on homes.
- Lead operation meetings.
- Meet with supers individually weekly on schedules, issues, to-do, and check-ins.
- Conduct weekly operations team meetings.
- Schedule and lead hard stop meetings.
- Approve change of orders and invoices.
- Manage construction supervisors, project coordinator, and detailers.
- Manage employee time off requests, early departures, and absences.
- Address and resolve issues between employees and subcontractors.
- Hire and terminate operations staff in coordination with leadership.
- Develop and maintain weekly schedule for detailers and laborers.
- Review and approve employee timesheets for accuracy and compliance.
- Updating and analyzing schedules.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of all project schedules.
- Hold Superintendents accountable for meeting scheduled milestones.
- Proactively identify and address potential subcontractor issues.
- Update the schedule scorecard weekly and analyze performance data to drive improvements.
- Manage subcontractors.
- Ensure consistent quality control across all projects.
- Deliver work on time and within purchase order and budget parameters.
- Manage the hiring and termination of subcontractors as needed.
- Material management.
- Oversee all materials on jobsites.
- Minimize waste, returns, and damage.
- Manage Buildertrend system.
- Oversee all warranty.
- Ensure warranty claims are below the company threshold of 30 claims at any given time.
- Resolve significant issues with customers.
- Communications and team meetings.
- Leadership: Analyze monthly cost-to-complete reports and escalate major issues to the CEO and leadership team.
- Vendors: Meet as needed to ensure alignment with quality standards, mission, and values.
- Operations Team: Conduct weekly individual meetings with superintendents to review schedules and issues; hold weekly full team meetings and regular check-ins with all operations staff.
- Customers: Provide weekly progress updates and closing timelines; conduct final walk-throughs with buyers.
Qualifications:
- Construction experience required.

- Hold a valid Residential C Contractor License.
- Exhibit a strong and confident leadership style while maintaining professionalism.
- Possess extensive knowledge of residential construction practices and standards.

- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, employees, and subcontractors.
