Job summary

The City of Perth Amboy is seeking an experienced Construction Official to lead the Construction Department, oversee permitting, inspections, plan review, and supervise subcode officials, inspectors, and office staff. The role enforces the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code and relevant state regulations to support safe, compliant developments.

Qualified applicants will hold the NJ Construction Official license, a related HHS subcode license, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Valid NJ Construction Official License issued by the NJDCA and at least one valid HHS Subcode License, preferably in Building and/or Fire.
• NJ Driver's License in good standing.
• Computer proficiency: SDL and Edmunds, Microsoft Outlook Suite.
