Under the direction of the Borough Administrator, the successful candidate will be responsible for the administration and enforcement of the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code, applicable Borough ordinances, zoning regulations, and related State laws. The position involves reviewing zoning and construction permit applications and plans, performing inspections, administering zoning requirements, investigating complaints and violations, communicating with property owners and contractors, and providing professional guidance concerning construction and zoning matters. Attending meetings as needed/requested. Must have minimum five years’ experience as a Construction Official and similar experience as a Zoning Official, Planning or Zoning Board experience preferred. The successful candidate must be able to work independently, exercise sound judgment, maintain accurate records, and provide professional and courteous service to residents, contractors, architects, engineers, and members of the public. Give direction an supervise appropriate staff members. The position requires a minimum of eighteen hours per week with the ability to work more as needed/requested. This is a part-time position that does not offer health benefits. Salary range as per Borough ordinance $10,000 – $65,000.
