Job summary

Souder, Miller & Associates in Albuquerque, NM seeks a Construction Observer II-IV to coordinate and observe water, sewer, and related construction projects. You will assist a Project Engineer, interact with Contractors, clients, and SMA staff, and ensure timely reporting and quality control.

The role requires field duties with occasional office work, quick issue identification, and the ability to complete constructability reviews of designs. Travel up to 75% may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Minimum 3 years of construction inspection or management experience or the equivalent.
• Must pass a drug and alcohol test and have a clean driving record to operate company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction observation and interact with Contractors, Clients, and SMA staff.
• Inspect work in progress to ensure conformance with plans and specifications.
• Maintain daily records of construction work, quantities, and tests.
• Read and understand construction bid documents, drawings, specs, and contracts.
• Attend meetings related to construction projects and manage RFIs.
