Job summary

ManpowerGroup Global, Inc. is seeking a Construction MEP Engineer to support the Data Center Development team on onsite projects in Des Moines, IA. You will provide mechanical engineering input for large-scale data center construction and ensure compliance with design specs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of engineering or construction experience, preferably in data centers.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and cooling technologies.
• Experience reading blueprints and construction documents; BAS experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite mechanical engineering support for large-scale data center construction projects and ensure design compliance.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve RFIs and technical issues.
• Inspect mechanical systems installation including HVAC and cooling to verify quality.
• Support safety, quality, schedule, and cost management objectives.

What’s the Job?

• Provide onsite mechanical engineering support for large-scale data center construction projects and ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve design conflicts, RFIs, and technical issues.
• Inspect mechanical systems installation, including HVAC and cooling infrastructure, to verify quality and adherence to project standards.
• Support project delivery objectives related to safety, quality, schedule, and cost management.
• Collaborate with building automation and commissioning teams to ensure successful startup and operation of critical facility systems.

What’s Needed?

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of engineering or construction experience, preferably within mission-critical facilities or data centers.
• Strong expertise in HVAC systems, cooling technologies, and mechanical infrastructure.
• Experience integrating mechanical systems with Building Automation Systems (BAS).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
