Relativity Space in Long Beach, CA is seeking a mechanical design engineer to support the Construction Design and Delivery team that builds the factory for rockets. The role focuses on designing, sizing, and specifying mechanical systems essential to a high‑growth manufacturing environment.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, propulsion, avionics, and facilities teams to ensure systems are properly coordinated, constructible, and compliant with codes and safety standards; involvement spans

Formación

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 2+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Experience with HVAC, hydronic/chilled water, plumbing, and exhaust systems.
• Experience developing Basis of Design (BOD) documentation.

Responsabilidades

• Support the design and development of mechanical systems including HVAC and plumbing.
• Perform calculations, sizing, load analyses, and performance evaluations.
• Create and maintain drawings and models in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure constructibility.
• Support projects from concept through construction, commissioning, and handoff.
• Review designs and submittals for codes, standards, and safety.
• Conduct site inspections and resolve field challenges to protect schedules.
• Support startup, testing, commissioning, and continuous improvement of facilities.
