Job summary

Relativity Space in California is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Construction Design and Delivery team. You will design and specify infrastructure mechanical systems across manufacturing and office facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, and critical utility networks.

With 2+ years of relevant experience, you will develop BODs, perform load calculations, create drawings in AutoCAD and Revit, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure code-compliant, constructible

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Support design and development of mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, cryogenic, high-pressure, oxygen monitoring).
• Perform calculations, sizing, load analysis, and system performance evaluations.
• Develop and maintain AutoCAD drawings and Revit models, basis of design narratives, technical specs, and as-built drawings.
• Coordinate with cross-functional engineering, construction, manufacturing, and facilities teams to ensure systems are coordinated and constructible.
• Support projects from initial concept through construction, commissioning and handoff, including scheduling, budgeting, risk assessment, and documentation.
• Review designs, drawings, and submittals for codes, standards, specifications, and safety requirements.
• Conduct site inspections, troubleshoot issues, respond to RFIs, and coordinate with contractors to maintain timelines.
• Support system startup, testing, commissioning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
