Job summary

Intertek is seeking an Engineering Technician to perform field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, and other construction materials at our Waukesha, WI site. You will collect samples, document results, and assist in reporting while working outdoors on various sites year-round.

The role requires basic math, reading of work plans, and the ability to lift 30–50 pounds; overtime and valid driver’s license are needed. Intertek offers competitive benefits and a safety-first culture.

Qualifications

Must have basic math, calculator, and computer skills.
Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form.
Able to read and understand work plans.
Able to work off shifts and overtime.
Valid Driver's License with reliable driving record.
Able to lift 30 to 50 pounds frequently; more with assistance.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather.
Kneel, squat, walk/stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

Operates testing equipment and conducts testing on soils, concrete, or other materials.
Performs field and laboratory testing of soil samples and concrete specimens.
Documents daily activities and testing results; prepares field reports.
Works from drawings, specifications and diagrams.
Works outdoors on construction sites year-round.
Makes detailed observations and provides limited interpretation of results.
Maintains detailed data from test results and calculations.
Uses calculator to compute test results; communicates with client/team.
Adheres to safety practices to protect self and others.
