Job summary

S&ME, Inc. is seeking a full‑time Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Professional to join our Construction Services team in New Albany, Indiana.

The role involves coordinating field explorations, logging soil samples, performing calculations, preparing reports, and supporting project and client needs under the supervision of a Licensed Engineer. You will test materials (soil, concrete, asphalt, etc.), review plans, document field activities, draft proposals, and maintain daily

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction materials testing/inspections.
• Must obtain at least one related certification within 6 months of hiring.

Responsibilities

• Test and oversee inspections of soil, concrete, asphalt, and other materials to meet project specs.
• Analyze construction plans and specs to ensure alignment with project goals.
• Record field observations daily and manage data using Metafield or similar systems.
• Prepare reports and proposals for projects; communicate progress to management and clients.
