Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Intern Level 2 to support routine field and laboratory testing on construction materials projects in Raleigh, NC. The role builds on prior internship experience and emphasizes data collection, documentation, and testing activities while developing knowledge of construction practices and projects workflows.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) required.
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated work ethic.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
• Basic math and data interpretation skills.
• Proficiency with electronic devices and data entry tools.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Perform field observation and testing with guidance from senior staff.
• Conduct routine testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, and other materials.
• Document field conditions and testing results in field reports.
• Assist in the preparation, organization, and maintenance of field and laboratory equipment.
• Perform basic calculations and data entry tasks.
• Communicate with contractors, field staff, and project teams about testing activities.
• Notifies supervisors of changes in site conditions or testing needs.
• Assist with laboratory testing, including sample preparation and curing.
• Maintain organized field and laboratory work environments.
• Participate in project meetings and coordination activities.
• Assist with reviewing laboratory results and project documentation.
