Job summary

ECS Southeast, LLP is seeking an Intern Level 2 for Construction Materials Testing to support field and laboratory testing on our projects. You will gain hands-on experience in data collection, documentation, and testing activities while developing knowledge of construction practices and materials testing standards.

The role emphasizes growth toward greater independence with supervision from senior staff, collaboration with project teams, and adherence to ECS core values.

Qualifications

• 90 days of related experience; internship with ECS or another firm preferred.
• Pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Master degree in Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Certification requirements: Radiation Safety, Soils I, Concrete I within specified timeframes.
• If driving for ECS, a valid driver's license is required.
• Strong communication and detail-oriented work ethic; ability to work independently and in a team.
• Basic math and data interpretation; ability to read plans and follow construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Performs field and laboratory testing tasks under supervision with increasing independence.
• Documents field conditions and testing results in field reports.
• Maintains equipment and assists with lab work and data entry.
• Coordinates with contractors, field staff, and project teams on testing activities.
• Assists in project meetings and in reviewing laboratory results and documentation.
