Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Intern Level 3 in Fredericksburg, VA. The role involves field and laboratory testing on growingly complex projects, data documentation, and support for project management activities.

Qualifications

• Current graduate student in a Civil Engineering program with at least one internship with ECS or another firm.
• Pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Master degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• One certification must be completed within 90 days; all basic certifications within 270 days (Radiation Safety, Soils I, Concrete I).

Responsibilities

• Perform construction materials testing and observation for soils, concrete, asphalt, and related materials.
• Assist in selecting field and lab testing methods under guidance.
• Document data accurately and prepare reports.
• Attend project meetings and support issue resolution.
• Assist with proposals, scopes of work, and technical documentation.
• Support scheduling for field activities and testing assignments.
• Assist with training and oversight of Field Technicians.
• Support project budgeting, tracking, and invoicing.
