Job summary

ECS Mid-Atlantic, LLC is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Intern Level 2 in Aberdeen, MD to support field and laboratory testing activities. You will gain independence while collecting data, documenting results, and assisting with project workflows under supervision.

The role emphasizes developing knowledge of construction materials testing principles, standards, and documentation, with opportunities to advance certifications and hands-on experience in soil, concrete, and asphalt

Qualifications

• 90 days of related experience
• At least one internship with ECS or another firm
• Pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Master degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• One certification must be completed within 90 days; basic certifications within 270 days (Radiation Safety, Soils I, Concrete I)
• If driving for ECS, a valid driver's license is required
• Must be able to lift up to 85 pounds repeatedly

Responsibilities

• Performs field and laboratory testing with guidance
• Documents field conditions and results in field reports
• Assists with equipment preparation and maintenance
• Performs basic calculations, data reduction, and data entry
• Communicates with contractors and project teams about testing activities
• Notifies supervisors of changes or issues
• Assists with laboratory testing including sample prep, curing, and procedures
• Maintains organized field and lab environments
• Participates in project meetings and documentation review
