Job summary

ECS Mid-Atlantic, LLC is seeking a CMT Intern Level I to observe and assist with routine field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials. You will collect data, document results, and support senior staff while learning testing methods, project workflows, and safety practices.

Ideal candidates are pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Master in Civil Engineering or a related field, with strong communication, dependability, and the willingness to work

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Master degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Must complete one certification within 90 days and all basic certifications within 270 days (Radiation Safety, Soils I, Concrete I).
• Valid driver's license if driving for ECS subsidiary.
• Ability to lift 85 pounds repeatedly.
• Willingness to work outdoors and in field conditions.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Detail-oriented, dependable, and organized; able to work independently or on a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other materials.
• Document site conditions and test results in field reports.
• Prepare and organize field and lab equipment.
• Perform basic data entry, calculations, and data reduction.
• Communicate with field staff, contractors, and project team.
• Attend project meetings with senior staff as requested.
