Job summary

Atlas seeks a CMT Field Technician to perform construction materials testing and field inspections in Louisville, KY. You will test concrete, soil, and asphalt, document observations, and prepare detailed reports to ensure compliance with project specs and industry standards.

The role requires a safety-focused mindset, strong communication, and technical reporting skills. Travel within Kentucky and Southern Indiana is expected, with opportunities for growth in a hands-on field environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license and a commitment to safe driving.
• Ability to lift/move up to 70 pounds and stand for long periods, including 12-hour days in varied weather.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction-related field testing and inspections as directed by the CMT Manager and Senior Engineer.
• Travel to sites across Kentucky and Southern Indiana, including occasional overnight and weekend assignments.
• Communicate field observations and results to project managers and engineers; document accurately.
• Transport equipment, test specimens, and documentation to labs and client locations.
• Assist with equipment setup and provide field support to testing and inspection operations.
• Prepare and submit daily field observation reports and project documentation.
• Perform field quality control testing of in-place concrete per specs and standards.
• Conduct field density testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other materials.
• Collaborate with technicians, engineers and staff to support project needs.
• Adhere to Atlas safety plans, policies, and PPE usage.
