Job summary

S&ME, Inc. is seeking Construction Materials Engineering Technicians to join our Columbus, OH team. The role focuses on hands-on field and lab testing of concrete, asphalt, soil, and aggregates, with training and potential advancement opportunities.

Earnest team collaboration with engineers and project managers, flexible hours, and occasional travel are part of this full-time position. Compensation is based on experience and certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred for advanced levels.
• Various Technician levels: 0-2, 2+, 3+, and 5+ years experience with potential leadership.
• Certifications such as ACI Field Testing Grade I and ICC Special Inspector.
• Willingness to travel and operate a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and laboratory testing on construction materials (concrete, asphalt, soil, aggregates).
• Collect and prepare samples for analysis.
• Interpret test results and prepare detailed reports.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and project managers to meet specs and safety guidelines.
