Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician to travel to construction sites and inspect contractor work, performing field testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, and masonry materials.

You will document inspections in real time using smartphones and tablets for review by project managers; strong outdoor work ethic and willingness to travel to project sites are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prior construction, inspection, or field-testing experience preferred.
• ACI Level I, State DOT, WACEL, ICC, or other related certifications are a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic math and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

Pay range: $18-30 per hour

As a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician, you will travel to construction sites to inspect contractor work and perform field testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, and masonry materials. Using smartphones and tablets, you'll document inspections and test results in real time for review by project managers. Physical Requirements:

• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods throughout the day
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 70 pounds regularly

• Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and driving record review
