Job summary

CMT Technical Services (CMT) in Houston, TX is seeking Field Materials Testing Technicians to join our outdoor inspection team. This role offers hands-on field work with soils, concrete, and asphalt, and a path to grow in construction materials testing.

We value initiative, reliability, and accuracy. You will perform field tests, document results, and follow safety procedures; training is provided, and certification in soils/concrete/asphalt is a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform field tests on soils, concrete, and asphalt.

• Accurately complete daily field reports and datasheets.

• Operate and maintain testing equipment and company vehicle.
• Note: training will be provided by CMT.

We are seeking Field Materials Testing Technicians to join our team in Houston, TX. Compensation: $18-20/hour (depending on experience)

Location: Houston, TX

FLSA Exemption: Non-Exempt

Schedule: Hours may vary

What you’ll be doing:

• Perform field tests on construction materials (e.g., soils, concrete, asphalt)
• Verify conformance to construction plans and specifications
• Accurately complete daily field reports and datasheets
• Follow testing procedures and safety guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
• Operate and maintain testing equipment and company vehicle

What you have:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license (required)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor environments
• Ability to pass a drug test
• Strong attention to detail and initiative
