Job summary

Thompson Engineering is seeking a Special Inspector to perform inspections on construction materials and activities in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge and communication skills, with a commitment to accuracy.

This role involves preparing detailed records of inspections, interpreting project specifications, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Preferred certifications include ICC Special Inspections, ACI Concrete Testing, and AWS Welding Inspector.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in construction inspection or materials testing.
• Current certifications in ICC Special Inspection, ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician, or AWS Certified Welding Inspector.
• Strong understanding of IBC, ASTM, ACI, AWS codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and laboratory inspections of construction materials.
• Prepare and maintain detailed records of inspections and test results.
• Communicate findings with project managers, contractors, and engineers.
