Job summary

Alta Environmental & Infrastructure is seeking a Construction Materials Field Technician to perform on-site testing and inspections of soil, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials. The role requires strong geotechnical and materials testing knowledge, meticulous data recording, and the ability to work on active sites across diverse environments.

The ideal candidate will hold field certifications or be willing to obtain them within six months, possess a valid driver's license, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience in geotechnical and construction materials testing, preferably as a field technician.
• Field certifications (Nuclear Safety, ACI, ATTI) are preferred but not required.
• City of Phoenix tester certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field testing and inspections of construction materials according to industry standards and project specifications.
• Perform soil compaction tests, concrete slump tests, cylinder testing, and asphalt density tests with specialized equipment.
• Document and report test results accurately and timely to ensure data integrity.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure materials are installed per project specs.
• Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accurate measurements.
• Adhere to OSHA and company safety policies on worksites.
