Job summary

Alta Environmental & Infrastructure in Arizona is seeking a dependable Construction Materials Field Technician to join our Geotechnical Engineering team. This role performs field testing, sampling, inspection, and documentation to verify compliance with project specs and applicable building codes.

The Construction Materials Field Technician works on a variety of commercial, residential, transportation, and infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Arizona driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • All field level certifications (Nuclear Safety, ACI, and ATTI field) preferred, not required.
  • 3+ years of experience sampling/testing soils and ABC from job sites and roadways.
  • Good written and verbal skills.
  • City of Phoenix certified tester or ability to secure certifications within 6 months of hire.
  • Knowledge of soil mechanics and sampling of concrete and asphalt.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee full Post Tension inspections including pad/trench certification, pre-slab, concrete sampling, stressing, epoxy, and grade verification.
  • Perform all ATTI certified tests in the field.
  • Communicate with clients and potential clients regarding project needs.
  • Manage personal field equipment.
  • Adhere to OSHA and company safety guidelines.
  • Adhere to Alta Southwest company policies.
  • Complete in-house training.
  • Travel locally during the business day; some out-of-area and overnight travel may be needed.
