Job summary

Jobtailor in Alabama seeks a seasoned Construction Manager to serve as Owner's Representative on commercial/public projects from concept to completion. You will advise the Project Owner, monitor schedules, and coordinate among on-site teams to drive safety, quality, and timely delivery.

You will enforce environmental permits, building codes, and safety standards, develop mitigation strategies for risks, manage documentation and reporting, and leverage Procore to track progress and maintain

Qualifications

6-8 years of Construction Manager (CM) experience in commercial or public construction.
CSI Construction Document Technologist (CDT) certification.
Experience as Owner’s Representative on complex construction projects.
Procore experience or familiarity with project management software.

Responsibilities

Advise Project Owner on all aspects of commercial construction from concept to completion.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits throughout the construction process.
Monitor project schedules, provide early feedback on performance and risk, and support timely completion of milestones.
Identify potential risks for the Owner and develop mitigation strategies.
Monitor Contractor’s quality control measures to meet industry standards and Owner expectations.
Serve as a conduit of information between on-site stakeholders and provide regular progress updates.
Observe and influence construction teams, subcontractors, and staff to foster collaboration and safety.
Consult to ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain accurate project documentation and provide regular reporting to stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits throughout the construction process, including environmental impact assessments and mitigation measures.
Monitor all project schedules, provide early feedback on performance and risk to those schedules, and support timely completion of all project milestones.
On behalf of the Owner, identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to better position the project for success.
Monitor the Contractor’s quality control measures to ensure construction activities meet industry standards and Owner expectations.
Serve as a key conduit of information exchange between all on-site stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns that may arise.
Observe and influence the activities of construction teams, subcontractors, and support staff on behalf of the Owner, fostering a collaborative and safety-focused work environment.
Consult to ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices and recommend corrective actions to maintain a safe work environment for all personnel.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, permits, change orders, and progress reports, and provide regular reporting to stakeholders.

Requirements

6-8 years of Construction Manager (CM) experience in commercial or public construction.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
Proven ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously and deliver results on time and within budget.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field a plus, but not required with commensurate field experience as a CM.
CSI Construction Document Technologist (CDT) Technician certification.
Experience in acting as an Owner’s Representative on complex construction projects.
Proficient in project management software and tools - experience in Procore is a plus.
