Job summary

NextGenEnergyJobs is seeking a seasoned Project Engineer to oversee the construction process for data centers, from shovel-ready stage through commissioning, coordinating with Sales, Operations, and management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, or similar field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience as a project engineer in assisting or supervising construction projects of increasing complexity; 7+ years preferred.
• Experience in CSA (civil, structural, architectural) and/or MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) construction management is a requirement.
• Complex and technical construction experience is required.
• Data Center experience is preferred.

Job description

The Construction team is responsible for the entire process flow of delivering the physical data centers from shovel ready state through commissioning, working with Sales, Operations, and management along the way.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, or similar field, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience as a project engineer in assisting or supervising construction projects of increasing complexity required; 7+ years preferred.
• Experience in CSA (civil, structural, architectural) and/or MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) construction management is a requirement
• Complex and technical construction experience is required
• Data Center experience is preferred
• Skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Working understanding of project scheduling concepts and tools (MS Project or P6)
• Basic leadership capabilities, including supporting team members and contributing to a positive team environment.
• Strong working knowledge of critical power and cooling infrastructure systems.
• Proficiency in data center design and familiarity with North American construction markets preferred.
• Familiarity with applicable building codes, fire ordinances, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence cross functional stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation standards.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
