Job summary

APSI Construction Management is seeking a Construction Manager/Mechanical Engineer to support VA hospital projects in Alabama. You will lead construction management, project management, and commissioning across multiple non-recurring maintenance scopes for the Alabama Veterans Health Care System.

Requirements include a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and at least 6 years of design and construction experience, ideally in medical facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from an accredited school.
• Minimum 6 years of design and construction experience, medical facilities a plus.
• Knowledge of Construction Contract Documents, front end and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Monitor project financial data and budgetary cost accounting; assist in change orders.
• Prepare and maintain project schedules; coordinate with general contractor and VA.
• Conduct progress meetings and review contractor payment requirements.
• Assist in issue resolution with thorough documentation of project status.
• Oversee testing/inspection and commissioning activities as required.
• Support additional construction-related services and closeout activities.
