Job summary

APSI Construction Management seeks a Construction Manager/Mechanical Engineer (CM-ME) for the VA Medical Center project in West Haven, CT. The role focuses on construction management, inspection, and coordination of mechanical systems to ensure compliance with contract requirements.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in mechanical engineering within construction and substantial CM/ME experience; 10 years in CM/ME is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in mechanical engineering in a construction context
• 10 years’ experience in CM/ME roles is strongly preferred
• 5 years’ experience inspecting mechanical construction

Responsibilities

• Provide construction management support for the VA Medical Center project, ensuring compliance with contract requirements
• Perform constructability reviews and oversee submittals with timely reviews by all stakeholders
• Maintain project schedules, daily logs, and reporting; coordinate with General Contractor and Resident Engineer
• Monitor budget, cost accounting, change orders, and payments; prepare cost estimates and change packages
• Attend and document progress meetings; support issue resolution and risk management
• Coordinate testing and inspection of mechanical systems, start-up, calibration, and commissioning as required
