Job summary

Georgia-Pacific in Toledo, OR, is seeking a Construction Manager to lead and support the construction process for capital and major maintenance projects. The role involves defining and executing project life cycles from design through closeout, with a focus on safety and value creation aligned with Koch companies’ principles.

You will collaborate with project engineering leaders, managers, COEs, procurement and mill teams to determine construction strategy and ensure execution plans meet goals

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Building Science, Construction Management or Engineering OR 4+ years of construction management experience.
• Experience validating estimates and scheduling projects.
• Experience managing construction projects from start to finish.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to work extended hours during critical execution periods, outages, and weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support construction processes for capital projects.
• Review scope of work and all construction aspects for each project.
• Participate in constructability reviews and determine construction strategy.
• Coordinate with engineering leaders, project managers, COEs, procurement and mill teams.
• Work with contractors to coordinate activities and validate execution plans and schedules.
• Review costs and schedules, challenge assumptions when appropriate.
• Identify gaps in construction processes and mitigate them with teams/contractors.
• Assist with checkout and startup of projects and provide updates to stakeholders.
