Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead a large-scale greenfield data center project in Wheeler, Texas. The role acts as the central point of coordination for all contractors, vendors, and on-site activities to ensure safe, efficient, and schedule-driven execution of a multi-billion-dollar infrastructure initiative.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of construction management experience.
  • Experience supporting greenfield data center construction projects.
  • Experience managing large-scale mission-critical, hyperscale, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, or industrial construction projects.
  • Demonstrated success coordinating contractors, subcontractors, and vendors in complex construction environments.
  • Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure, mechanical systems, generators, UPS systems, switchgear, cooling systems, and commissioning processes.
  • Strong skills in construction coordination, trade sequencing, site logistics management, safety leadership, contractor management, schedule management, risk mitigation, conflict resolution, and executive communication.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities among general contractors, subcontractors, commissioning teams, utility providers, and specialty vendors.
  • Lead daily and weekly construction planning meetings.
  • Sequence work activities to prevent trade stacking and schedule conflicts.
  • Ensure site logistics plans are maintained and followed.
  • Resolve contractor and vendor issues before they impact project schedules or safety.
  • Identify and mitigate unsafe working conditions.
  • Enforce site safety protocols and escalation procedures.
  • Partner with EHS teams to ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Stop or redirect work when safety concerns arise.
  • Hold contractors accountable for corrective actions and safe work practices.
  • Monitor construction progress against the master project schedule.
  • Identify schedule risks and develop recovery plans.
  • Track critical path activities and milestones.
  • Coordinate site access, equipment deliveries, crane operations, and major installations.
  • Ensure work packages are completed in the proper sequence.
  • Drive ownership and performance among contractors and subcontractors.
  • Document and communicate performance concerns.
  • Lead issue resolution and action item tracking.
  • Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and schedule requirements.
  • Escalate contractor performance concerns when necessary.
  • Provide regular project updates to leadership.
  • Communicate schedule impacts, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Maintain clear records of field issues, decisions, and action items.

Construction Manager (Data Center Construction)

Location: Wheeler, TX (Onsite)

Duration: 12-Month Contract

Pay Rate: $80-$90/hr W2

Overview We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support a large-scale greenfield data center project in Wheeler, Texas. This individual will serve as the central point of coordination for all contractors, vendors, and onsite activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and schedule-driven execution of a multi-billion-dollar infrastructure initiative.

This role is ideal for a construction professional with extensive experience managing mission-critical facilities, hyperscale data centers, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor facilities, or large industrial construction projects.

Responsibilities Vendor & Contractor Coordination
  • Coordinate activities among general contractors, subcontractors, commissioning teams, utility providers, and specialty vendors.
  • Lead daily and weekly construction planning meetings.

Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of construction management experience.

  • Demonstrated success coordinating contractors, subcontractors, and vendors in complex construction environments.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $90.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
