Job summary

Wood PLC is seeking a Construction Manager to lead on-site activities for Electrical Projects, with a focus on brownfield retrofits and data center experience. You will oversee contractors, manage schedules, ensure quality and safety, and report progress to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage construction activities on site at the field office.
  • Conduct regular site meetings and oversee contractors.
  • Monitor progress against the construction schedule and report status.
  • Ensure quality, safety, and environmental requirements are met.
  • Identify change requests and coordinate with stakeholders.
  • Review construction documents and submittals and prepare reports.

We are seeking people to manage complex construction projects ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Experience in brownfield retrofits is preferred. And experience with Data Centers is strongly preferred. Those without that specific experience, but with a desire to gain that experience are equally encouraged to apply. There are multiple positions, with different levels of responsibilities, but all positions are on-site at locations throughout the USA. You will be assigned to a site location for the duration of the project. Projects vary in duration, generally from 6 to 24 months. Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality of the work and deficiency identification and correction
  • Collaborate to identify required material and equipment
  • Ensure safety and security of site
  • Regular progress reporting

  • Responsible for construction and contractor related deliverables
  • Responsible for execution of the work in accordance with quality standards

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (5) years of work experience in brownfield construction
  • Preference for ten (10) years field experience in an industrial environment
  • Experience in Data Centers is highly desirable.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license
  • Proficiency in document creation and editing (Microsoft Office Products such as Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Excel)
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills are necessary in order to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing requirements to a wide range of client groups (internal and external)
  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently, or in a team environment, and provide leadership, support, direction, and consultation
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives with strong organizational skills to meet project deadlines
  • Willingness to travel, participate in activities, network and build relationships
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to organize, analyze and report on various parameters and data sets
  • Ability to proactively detect challenges to safety, quality, cost and schedule that will ensure development and execution of effective prevention, mitigation, or corrective actions
  • Able to establish and maintain a positive and effective customer relationship, ensuring payment terms are met, and communicating any delays.
  • Well organized, observant, good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work with timelines/targets
