MJZ Services is a growing commercial construction, facilities maintenance, and specialty services company supporting clients across a wide range of industries and project types.
Our business is different from a traditional general contractor. We manage everything from fast-moving service calls and small repairs to equipment replacements, renovations, capital projects, and larger commercial construction projects.
Our philosophy is simple: solve problems, communicate clearly, and make our customers' jobs easier. We are looking for a Project Manager who can grow with the company and ultimately take on increasingly larger and more complex projects.
Position Summary:
The Project Manager will be responsible for managing multiple customers and projects simultaneously, ranging from approximately $1,000 service and repair projects to $10,000–$20,000+ projects and increasingly larger commercial construction projects. This position requires someone who can operate in a fast-paced environment without losing organization, communication, financial control, or attention to detail. You will coordinate customers, subcontractors, technicians, vendors, materials, schedules, proposals, change orders, documentation, and project closeout while following MJZ's established approval and communication procedures.
We are not necessarily looking for the candidate with the most years of experience.
We place significant value on attitude, intelligence, resourcefulness, communication, accountability, organization, coachability, and the desire to grow.
The ideal candidate is someone who takes ownership rather than making excuses and also:
Commercial construction, facilities management, building maintenance, mechanical/electrical trades, general contracting, project management, or similar experience is preferred. However, relevant experience is only one factor in our hiring decision.
Candidates with less direct experience but exceptional organizational ability, communication skills, problem‑solving ability, work ethic, and demonstrated ability to learn quickly are encouraged to apply.
Experience with project management software, construction documentation, estimating, scheduling, RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and cost tracking is beneficial.
A successful MJZ Project Manager becomes someone our customers trust to handle problems without needing constant supervision.
You should eventually be capable of managing multiple customers and dozens of simultaneous activities while maintaining control over:
As you develop, the expectation is that you will progress into managing increasingly larger and more sophisticated commercial construction projects while maintaining the responsiveness and problem‑solving mentality that differentiates MJZ.
This position is intended for someone looking for more than their next job.
MJZ is actively growing its capabilities, customer base, geographic reach, and size of projects. We want people who are interested in developing alongside the company and taking on greater responsibility as they demonstrate their capabilities.
Huge growth opportunity within the company as the position is based on commission of project costs.
Compensation: $65.00 per hour
MJZ was built by experienced facility and construction professionals who spent years on the client‑side identifying the service gaps left by even the industry's largest contractors, and we built our company around eliminating those shortcomings through exceptional communication, accountability, responsiveness, transparency, and execution that consistently exceeds expectations.
Full‑service construction management and general contracting — plus ongoing preventative maintenance and life cycle maintenance on equipment and building systems — keeping your commercial space built to last and running at its best.
