MJZ Services is seeking a Project Manager to oversee multiple customers and projects, from service work to larger capital projects. The role values attitude, communication, and problem-solving, with an emphasis on growth potential and coachability.
The manager will coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams, ensuring adherence to approval processes and financial controls while delivering high-quality results. Flexible work-from-home options are available.
MJZ Services is a growing commercial construction, facilities maintenance, and specialty services company. We support customers across projects ranging from small service and repair work to larger renovations, capital projects, and general contracting.
Our approach is different from a traditional general contractor. We solve problems for our customers.
MJZ Services is seeking a Project Manager who is highly organized, resourceful, accountable, and motivated to grow with the company.
This position requires managing multiple customers and multiple projects simultaneously, including smaller $1,000–$5,000 service projects, $10,000–$20,000 projects, and increasingly larger commercial construction and capital projects.
We are not necessarily looking for the candidate with the most years of construction experience. Relevant experience is valuable, but we place significant importance on attitude, intelligence, coachability, communication, problem-solving ability, resourcefulness, and growth potential.
The right person must be able to move quickly and solve problems while still respecting MJZ's required approval processes and levels of authority.
Ownership — Takes responsibility for results and does not default to blaming customers, subcontractors, coworkers, or circumstances.
Resourcefulness — Doesn't stop at "I don't know." Knows how to find information, people, vendors, materials, and alternative solutions.
Organization — Can manage many moving pieces across multiple customers without losing track of commitments.
Communication — Keeps customers and management informed, particularly when there is a problem.
Problem Solving — Can evaluate an unfamiliar situation, gather information, develop options, and determine the appropriate next step.
Coachability — Accepts feedback and actively works to improve.
Growth Mindset — Wants increasing responsibility and is interested in developing into a highly capable construction and facilities professional.
Process Discipline — Understands that being resourceful does not mean bypassing approval requirements, financial controls, documentation, or company procedures.
Customer Mindset — Looks beyond the immediate task and asks, "What does the customer actually need us to accomplish?"
Commercial construction, facilities management, project management, estimating, building maintenance, mechanical trades, or related experience is preferred.
However, MJZ will consider candidates with less traditional experience who demonstrate exceptional attitude, aptitude, organization, communication skills, resourcefulness, and potential for growth.
Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing multiple simultaneous projects is strongly preferred.
A successful MJZ Project Manager becomes someone whom both MJZ leadership and our customers trust to take ownership of a problem and get it solved.
Flexible work from home options available.
MJZ was built by experienced facility and construction professionals who spent years on the client-side identifying the service gaps left by even the industry's largest contractors, and we built our company around eliminating those shortcomings through exceptional communication, accountability, responsiveness, transparency, and execution that consistently exceeds expectations.
Full-service construction management and general contracting — plus ongoing preventative maintenance and life cycle maintenance on equipment and building systems — keeping your commercial space built to last and running at its best.
