Job summary

University of Rochester is seeking a Construction Manager to lead building and renovation projects across assigned areas. You will supervise project managers, planners, and coordinators, establish priorities and budgets, and ensure timely delivery while maintaining safety standards and quality.

You will collaborate with leadership on capital planning and oversee KPI reporting to ensure client satisfaction and efficient resource use in a dynamic university environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline and 3 years of construction experience required.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with managerial skills acquired while working under a Contractor, Construction Manager or another expert in the construction industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs project managers, planners, and coordinators in all phases of project management to meet customer requirements.
• Directs construction supervisors, scheduler/planners, and other staff in the completion of assigned projects while maintaining project schedules and budgets.
• Reviews, approves, and audits all project requests and assigns staff to balance workload and ensure safety and quality standards.
• Reviews, approves, and oversees finalizing construction designs, drawings, and specifications to meet design standards and codes.
• Oversees staff performance, development, and coaching.
• Develops and tracks KPIs using the work management system to monitor productivity and financial accountability.
