Job summary

Construction Manager – Washington, DC – Initial 12-Month Contract – Life Sciences

Our client is currently seeking the skills of Construction Manager to support their team. Our client develops and delivers life changing medicines to millions of people globally and as part of their growth. With their Drug Substance (DS) manufacturing network growing rapidly, they are committed to growing their portfolio of commercial biologics products supplied worldwide – and this is your opportunity to be involved!

What you’ll deliver:

• Lead and oversee all construction and installation activities, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient delivery across civil, mechanical, electrical, and process equipment workstreams.
• Manage contractors and subcontractors, driving construction planning, coordination, site logistics, quality performance, and interface resolution throughout project execution.
• Ensure construction quality requirements are met, including inspection and testing plans, as-built documentation, turnover packages, and Mechanical Completion activities.
• Support project delivery from early planning through final handover, including constructability reviews, permitting activities, stakeholder engagement, and transition to site operations.

Experience required:

• Proven experience managing large-scale pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated construction projects, ideally within a greenfield environment.
• Strong background in contractor and subcontractor management, including construction planning, coordination, sequencing, and interface management.
• Demonstrated SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) leadership, with a track record of delivering projects safely and in compliance with site and regulatory requirements.
• Experience leading Mechanical Completion, turnover, and handover activities, including walkdowns, punch lists, as-built documentation, and operational readiness.
