Your day as a Construction Manager will be a mix of communication, collaboration, and problem-solving as you oversee all aspects of multiple fuel construction projects from inception to completion. You’ll start by reviewing project updates and progress reports, ensuring Key Performance Indicators like safety, quality, cost, and schedule are on track. A large part of your day will be spent engaging with stakeholders—including internal Sr Leaders and Operations, contractors, engineers, architects, vendors, and regulatory bodies—providing clear and concise updates while facilitating effective decision-making.

Key Duties And Responsibilities
  1. Manage all aspects of construction projects from inception to final completion.
  2. Provide timely, concise, and transparent communication to operations and all stakeholders.
  3. Direct general contractors, engineers, architects, and vendors to complete construction projects satisfying contract requirements.
  4. Coordinate with 7-Eleven’s Environmental consultant to ensure compliance with all relevant laws.
  5. Assess project performance using KPIs for safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
  6. Create project plans including project charter, schedule, responsibility matrix, risk management, and communication plans.
  7. Facilitate site surveys, due diligence, and scope of work preparations.
  8. Manage project budgets, estimates, change orders, invoice reviews, and closeouts.
  9. Lead design reviews for accuracy against scope and specifications.
  10. Manage permitting processes and negotiate with regulatory bodies and authorities.
  11. Oversee bid management and contractor selection processes.
  12. Provide field oversight during project execution from preconstruction to final inspections.
  13. Develop equipment take-offs and orders for each project.
  14. Report on project progress, costs, and forecasts regularly.
  15. Ensure vendors meet quality and timeline expectations, addressing underperformance issues.
  16. Record and oversee resolution of project deficiencies.
  17. Promote a safety-first culture in the workplace.
  18. Handover completed projects to stakeholders after commissioning.
  19. This role is remote with up to 50% regional travel, potentially nationwide.
Education And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
Specific Knowledge And Skills
  • Operational experience in convenience stores, fueling, or quick service restaurants.
  • Understanding of accessibility laws.
  • Expertise in retail fueling systems installation and maintenance.
  • Relevant certifications or additional education preferred.
