Job summary

Cole, Scott & Kissane in Tampa, FL seeks a Construction Litigation Attorney to counsel clients in disputes involving defect claims, contracts, and other construction matters. You will handle depositions, motions, and hearings as part of a team.

The ideal candidate is a Florida Bar member with at least one year of civil litigation experience, strong writing and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Qualifications

• Must be a member in good standing of the Florida Bar.
• At least 1 year of civil litigation experience, preferably in construction matters.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Counsel and represent clients in construction‑related disputes, including defect claims and contract issues.
• Take and defend depositions, draft motions, and argue dispositive issues.
• Attend site inspections, hearings, mediations, and trials as needed.
• Perform legal research and provide clear case analysis and pleadings.
• Maintain client communications and coordinate with experts and opposing counsel.

Responsibilities

• Provide counseling and legal services to contractors, design professionals, developers, and individuals in disputes involving defect claims, torts, contractual issues, and other construction-related matters.
• Take and defend depositions
• Draft and argue dispositive motions
• Attend site inspections, hearings, mediations, and trials
• Perform legal research and provide analysis of case law
• Prepare pleadings and correspondence
• Communicate with clients, expert witnesses, and opposing counsel

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed member of the Florida Bar
• Must have a minimum of 1 year of civil litigation experience, preferably in construction litigation
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
