Job summary

Jobot, a reputable California law firm, seeks an experienced associate to manage construction and commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution. The role involves drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements, while coordinating depositions and court appearances.

You will analyze contracts, project records, and disputes, communicating closely with clients and experts.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree required.
• Active California State Bar membership required.
• 2–10 years civil litigation experience.
• Construction litigation experience preferred.
• Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and memoranda.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction and commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, legal memoranda, and settlement agreements.
• Propound and respond to written discovery and manage document production.
• Conduct and defend depositions and attend court hearings, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Analyze construction contracts, project records, payment disputes, delay claims, and change orders.
• Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, consultants, and court personnel.
• Assist with case strategy, trial preparation, and settlement negotiations.
• Manage court deadlines, filing requirements, and multiple active matters.
