About This Role

As a line worker in the Kinetic construction and engineering organization, you will install, repair, and maintain poles, cables, and conduits; install aerial and buried cables with hardware; and run fiber optic and copper cables in aerial and underground infrastructure.

You will also ensure crew safety, attend safety meetings, maintain inventory, operate heavy machinery, and perform routine maintenance. The role involves work on weekends, holidays, standby, and overtime, with over 50% travel potentially required. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Responsibilities
  • Install, repair, and maintain poles, using electronic test equipment, interpreting blueprints and staking sheets.
  • Install aerial and underground cables, inspect lines, analyze test results, and locate faults.
  • Set up customer service by installing and testing equipment.
  • Access areas to string lines or install equipment using bucket trucks, climbing poles, or entering tunnels and trenches.
  • String and pull cables, dig trenches, and perform work according to industry and RUS standards.
  • Follow design specifications, maintain project scope, and adhere to safety procedures.
  • Prepare engineering notes and interpret records and maps of underground and aerial telecom facilities.
  • Participate in engineering, permitting, and construction processes.
  • Recognize and repair route issues, fill and tamp holes.
Qualifications
  • Ability to operate construction equipment like digger derricks, bucket trucks, backhoes, trenchers, or cable plows.
  • Pole climbing certification.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds and work in all weather conditions, confined spaces, and at heights.
  • Availability for on-call schedules, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, ability to pass DOT certification, and obtain/maintain CDL.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%.
  • Strong time-management and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA 10-hour safety certification and pole climbing certifications.
  • Proficiency in operating construction equipment.
Physical and Visual Requirements

Includes standing, walking, sitting, climbing, bending, crouching, reaching, lifting, and repetitive hand actions, along with visual and auditory needs, and exposure to various environmental conditions.
