Job summary

George J. Igel & Co., Inc. in Columbus, OH is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to architect learning experiences for construction teams and office staff. You will design, develop, and assess training programs that improve safety, efficiency, and coordination on projects.

Collaborate with SMEs, apply ADDIE/SAM methodologies, and utilize Articulate 360 and LMS to deliver effective learning solutions that meet organizational goals and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in related field.
• 3+ years of experience developing training programs in corporate/workforce development.
• Proven experience creating curriculum for adult learners including ILT and e-learning.
• Experience from concept through implementation: needs analysis, design, development, evaluation.
• Experience partnering with stakeholders and SMEs to align training with goals.
• Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and workplace learning applications.
• Hands-on experience with e-learning tools (Articulate 360) and LMS.
• Experience evaluating training effectiveness using metrics and data.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and maintain MVR per company policy.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop end-to-end training programs (in-person, virtual, and e-learning).
• Create engaging instructional materials such as modules, workshops, and job aids.
• Collaborate with SMEs to identify needs and align learning with business goals.
• Apply ADDIE/SAM methodologies and adult learning principles to ensure quality.
• Produce facilitator guides, participant materials, assessments, and multimedia content.
• Utilize Articulate 360 to build multimedia-rich experiences and evaluate effectiveness.
• Ensure content aligns with policies, brand standards, and compliance.
• Manage multiple projects with deadlines and quality.
• Follow company policies and procedures and perform other duties as assigned.
