Job summary

Christman Mid-Atlantic Constructors, LLC is seeking a Skilled Laborer for our Northern Virginia region. You will perform general construction tasks, assist trades, and help maintain a safe, clean job site while supporting project needs.

Requirements include 1+ year of commercial construction experience, a High School Diploma or GED, and the ability to take measurements. You must have your own hand tools; power tools will be provided by Christman.

Qualifications

• One (1) or more years of experience in commercial construction.
• Must understand safety rules and tool/equipment instructions.
• Ability to take measurements and make calculations.
• Good communication skills both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Uses required tools to complete assigned tasks on the job site.
• Follows instructions from supervisors and implements construction plans.
• Assists other trades workers on the job site.
• Builds and takes down scaffolding or temporary structures, as required.
• Maintains jobsite cleanliness, removing any safety hazards and following material disposal protocol.
• Assists with loading and unloading materials and equipment, distributing them to the appropriate locations as directed.
• Directs traffic during roadway construction, as required.
• Assists with maintenance of construction tools or equipment.
• Keeps immediate working area clean. Must use broom and wheelbarrows and follow material procedures.
• Identifies and reports safety hazards. Takes all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
