Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking an entry-level laborer to join our project sites across our national network. The role emphasizes mentorship, career progression, and opportunities to engage in community service and company activities.

You will support craft workers, maintain safe work areas, and learn through hands-on projects in structural construction and related tasks. The position offers growth potential, standard safety training, and a path toward greater responsibilities within Layton’s

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and emails.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and emails.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Ability to apply understanding to carrying out simple one-or-two step instructions.
• Commits to and meets all scheduled attendance and production deadlines.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Champions “The Layton Way” by delivering predictable outcomes for internal teams, external teams, and customers.
• Ensures that “Constructing with Integrity” is delivered by working with honesty, unity, safety, and quality of work.
• Provide support to other craft workers on project site of structural construction, heavy concrete construction, demolition, and framing.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas (sweep debris, gather and discard trash, scrap iron and wood, remove snow and ice).
• Identify hazards associated with task assignments and ask questions when clarification is needed.
• Load/unload materials as needed.
