Job summary

Layton Construction seeks an entry-level construction laborer to support on-site teams across concrete construction, framing, and demolition tasks. You will assist craft workers, maintain tidy work areas, and help load/unload materials while following safety policies at all times.

The role offers growth potential and a path to progression within Layton’s projects, with emphasis on teamwork and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and emails.
Ability to write simple correspondence and emails.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Commits to and meets all scheduled attendance and production deadlines.
At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

Champions “The Layton Way” by delivering predictable outcomes for internal teams, external teams, and customers.
Ensures that “Constructing with Integrity” is delivered by working with honesty, unity, safety, and quality of work.
Provide support to other craft workers on project site of structural construction, heavy concrete construction, demolition, and framing.
Maintain clean and safe work areas (sweep debris, gather and discard trash, scrap iron and wood, remove snow and ice).
Identify hazards associated with task assignments and ask questions when clarification is needed.
Load/unload materials as needed.
Have minimum tools associated with trade.
