Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking a entry-level Construction Laborer to assist with general construction tasks at an on-site project in Springfield, NE. You will learn and perform tasks under supervision, support carpenters and other trades, and help maintain a safe and clean work area.

Responsibilities include site clean-up, material handling, operating basic equipment under supervision, following directions, and adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months of general construction industry experience.
• Basic knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction or repair of buildings or other structures.
• Ability to accurately measure lengths with ruler or tape.
• Ability to take direction, follow instructions, and work with supervision.
• Ability to apply active listening skills, ask clarifying questions, and follow through on assignments.
• Ability to travel and accommodate night and weekend work as needed.
• Reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Review and understand jobsite needs with Superintendents and Foreman.
• Perform physical labor to assist with jobsite clean-up, rough carpentry, site logistics, fencing, deck and platform building, protection systems, and construction waste areas.
• Operate equipment such as forklifts, backhoe, skid steer, excavator, compactors, and construction hoist.
• Gather and transport materials.
• Perform selected demolition.
• Conduct daily review project perimeter for security and cleanliness.
• Assist with construction of scaffolding.
• Perform fire watch duties as needed.
• May assist other craft trade workers as needed.
