Lawson Rigging & Fabrication is a Design-Build General Contractor specializing in industrial facility projects across the United States. Our clients include companies in heavy industry, manufacturing, food processing, chemicals, power and renewable energy, fertilizer, commercial grain, and cargo handling facilities.

We are seeking hardworking individuals eager to learn and grow their careers with us. A pre-employment drug screen is required, and candidates must meet Iowa and Federal employment requirements.

Responsibilities

General construction tasks include assisting millwrights and crew members with machinery installation, maintenance, and repair in industrial settings such as factories and construction sites. Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting with equipment setup, assembly, and alignment according to blueprints and specifications.
• Handling materials and heavy machinery components using hand tools, forklifts, and cranes.
• Maintaining cleanliness and assisting with routine machinery maintenance.
• Supporting troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues.
• Adhering to safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment.
• Learning from experienced millwrights to develop skills in machinery installation and repair.

Experience in welding, rigging, and fabricating is preferred but not required; training can be provided. The role requires mechanical aptitude, physical stamina, and a willingness to learn. Most work is outdoors, involving frequent travel and working at heights. Compensation includes $25/hour, with $55 per diem daily, and covered hotel costs.

Physical Demands

This role requires climbing, standing, bending, squatting, kneeling, walking, and lifting/moving up to 75 pounds. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
