Job description

Lawson Rigging & Fabrication is a Design-Build General Contractor specializing in completing industrial facilities across the United States. Our clients include heavy industrial, manufacturing, food-grade processing plants, chemicals, power and renewable energy, fertilizer facilities, commercial grain facilities, and cargo handling facilities.

We are looking to hire hardworking individuals eager to learn and grow their careers with us. A pre-employment drug screen is required, and candidates must pass both State of Iowa and Federal requirements for employment.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with Equipment Setup: Helping assemble, install, and align machinery according to blueprints and specifications.
• Material Handling: Moving heavy machinery parts using hand tools, forklifts, cranes, etc.
• Cleaning and Maintenance: Keeping work areas organized and assisting with routine machinery maintenance.
• Troubleshooting: Assisting in diagnosing mechanical issues.
• Safety Compliance: Following safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment.
• Learning and Development: Willingness to learn from experienced millwrights and develop skills in machinery installation, repair, and maintenance.

Experience in welding, rigging, and fabricating is preferred but not required; training will be provided. The role requires mechanical aptitude, physical stamina, and a willingness to learn. Most work will be outdoors, involving frequent travel, working at heights, and physical demands such as climbing, standing, bending, and lifting up to 75 pounds.

Compensation includes $25.00 per hour, $55 per diem daily, with hotel costs covered. PPE will be provided, and work environments may include extreme temperatures, fumes, and airborne particles. The noise level is moderate.
