MCL Construction in Omaha, NE is seeking a reliable Laborer to join our team. From site upkeep to material movement, you’ll keep our jobsites safe and moving.

This entry-level role welcomes those with strong work ethic and willingness to learn. You’ll work outdoors, lift heavy loads, use common tools, and support skilled trades as needed.

Qualifications

• Entry-level to experienced laborers encouraged to apply.
• Willingness to learn construction tools and procedures.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently when needed.
• Capable of lifting 50–60 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs occasionally.
• Able to work outdoors in varying conditions and around power tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform general manual labor: sweeping, hauling, loading, unloading, and moving materials.
• Support site upkeep: weed whacking, mowing, dewatering.
• Use common tools: hammer, pry bar, tape measure, screwdrivers, tin snips, pliers, etc.
• Assist carpenters and craft workers as directed by supervisor.
• Follow safety policies and wear PPE at all times.

Laborer — MCL Construction | Omaha, NE

We’re looking for a Laborer who is reliable, hardworking, and safety-minded — from those just starting out in construction to those that have some experience already we’re looking for those that take pride in a job done right and shows up ready to work, every day, on every task.

The title is Laborer. The real job is the backbone of every MCL job site — the person crews count on to keep materials moving, tools ready, and the work area safe.

Your Day-to-Day

General Labor & Site Work

• Perform general manual labor including sweeping, hauling, dumping, loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials
• Support site upkeep with tasks such as weed whacking, mowing, and dewatering
• Use small tools and equipment — hammer, flat pry bar, tape measure, 5-in-1 painter’s tool, Phillips and flathead screwdrivers, tin snips, pliers, and vice grips
• Assist with a wide range of construction-related tasks as directed by your supervisor
• Follow all MCL Construction safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times

Team & Project Support

• Assist carpenters and other craft workers as needed
• Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors to keep work safe and efficient
• Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and a willingness to help wherever needed
• Take a leading role guiding the tasks of other laborers when directed, as experience grows

• Bring construction experience — or a strong willingness to learn; both entry-level and experienced laborers are encouraged to apply
• Have a working knowledge of common construction tools, concepts, and procedures (or are eager to build it)
• Can follow directions and pre-established guidelines, and also work independently when needed
• Are able to lift 50–60 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs occasionally, and are comfortable standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and crouching throughout the day
• Have reliable transportation and are willing to travel between job sites
• Hold a high school diploma or equivalent (preferred, not required)
• Show reliability and punctuality — ready to work every day
• Are comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions (dirt, dust, mud, heat, cold, rain) and around power tools, heavy equipment, and uneven or elevated work surfaces
