Job summary

TMG Construction invites current students pursuing a B.S. in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field to join as Construction Interns.

You will support the Project Management team and assist in shop drawings, RFIs, document control, change management, estimating, scheduling, and other related activities. This developmental role offers hands-on experience across small and large projects, with emphasis on learning the construction process, teamwork, and safety on site while

Qualifications

• Current student pursuing a B.S. degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related degree; prior internship experience helpful but not required.
• Solid understanding of spreadsheets, Email, and other software used in the construction industry.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Must be able to lift and handle 50-pound objects.
• Must be mobile and able to walk job sites, climb ladders and stairs daily to inspect work and direct subcontractors.
• Clean driving record to obtain materials from suppliers when necessary.
• Ability to work in a team with a positive, customer-focused attitude.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support all aspects of project management and field operations for multiple projects.
• Support processing of shop drawings, RFIs, document control, change management, outsourcing, estimating, scheduling.
• Work with subject matter experts to create, review, and process shop drawings and other submittals.
• Support change management by updating logs, routing documents to vendors, obtaining pricing, and writing change orders.
• Assist in quantity surveying using digitizers, 3D modeling software, and paper-based methods.
• Participate in establishing and maintaining project schedules using scheduling software.
• Develop understanding of contract terms and compliance to prevent rework and delays.
• Gain experience in closeout activities for timely project completion.
