Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking undergraduate students for hands-on internship opportunities in the construction field in New York. Interns will work with project teams on tasks spanning from bidding to final completion, with assignments at both office and job sites.

Expect to support quantity take-off, layout, surveys, and document reviews while gaining exposure to coordinating with owners, architects, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Open to undergraduate students interested in gaining hands-on practical experience in the construction field.
• Qualified applicants will assist project teams in managing construction projects from bidding to final completion.
• Assignments include office and job site; relocation to remote sites may be required. Housing may be provided in certain situations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with quantity take-off and layout on projects.
• Support preconstruction surveys and shop drawing review.
• Maintain logs for submittals, RFIs, and invoices.
• Coordinate with owners, architects, and subcontractors during the project.
• Attend weekly progress meetings and assist during bid processes.
• Help with project management tasks including scheduling and cost tracking.
